We are now offering a special watercolor by Dave Hagerbaumer. It is a rare size painting by Dave. It was done in 1962, at a period when Dave was first becoming known as an artist. He only painted between 1Array-12 pictures of this size during his career. It is a 30 x 40 water color in perfect shape and with out glass to cover it. The scene is of Isabel Lake in Isabel Valley, California.

Notice: After the publication of Old Wildfowling Tales Volume III many people expressed interest in Volumes I and II. Both were sold out and hard to find. Used book dealers were selling them at about twice their original cost ($25)
Due to this Sand Lake Press decided to reprint them, but in one book. This reprint is now available for $30, plus $6 postage.
Both Volume I and II contain some of the best old writings published from 1870-1910. Both volumes were very popular and sold out quickly. Sand Lake Press printed 1,000 of the new reprint. About half were sold in pre-printing sales.

Just published, Old Wildfowling Tales Volume III. Hardbound, 30 chapters. Both Old Wildfowling Tales Volume I and II are now sold out. Both proved to be among the most popular of Sand Lake Press books. Volume III is also excellent. Based around old articles from the 1880's to 1910, it contains some of the best of the old writings to be found. Also, none of the old articles have been reprinted previously. If you like to read about waterfowling, you will like this collection. $25.
Also just published by Timber Press in Portland, Oregon, is Worth Mathewson's Band-tailed Pigeon Wilderness Bird At Risk. Hardbound, 183 pages. This is the first book devoted entirely to the life history of the bandtail. Unfortunately, the history of the pigeon and shooters isn't a pleasant subject. In fact, some of this book may be viewed as anti-hunting. It makes a strong case of the poor management of the pigeon and lack of concern by those who shot it. Shooters will likely view the book as irritating. Hunters will hopefully learn of mistakes made with the bird and work to correct them. Color photographs and pencil art by Dave Hagerbaumer. $20.
